LOS ANGELES, Monday, December 7, 2015 — Playboy Enterprises, Inc. (PEI) announced today that it has signed a new license agreement with PBB Entertainment to relaunch Playboy Brazil.  PBB Entertainment will serve as the magazine’s new publisher, handling all print and digital publishing operations for the edition.  Playboy Brazil is expected to relaunch in early 2016.

“Playboy has a very long history in Brazil, and we are thrilled that PBB Entertainment will help us carry on that tradition,” said Mike Violano, senior vice president, Playboy Enterprises, Inc.  “We look forward to a successful partnership with our new publisher as we continue to grow our print and digital audiences.”

Playboy first entered Brazil in August 1975 through a partnership with Roberto Civita, the founder of Editora Abril. Under Abril, Playboy Brazil set a standard in men’s entertainment with interviews and pictorials that captured a large and faithful following among readers.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with such an iconic brand, and look forward to upholding Playboy Brazil’s tradition of excellence,” said André Sanseverino, senior vice president, PBB Entertainment.  “The magazine will continue to offer readers the same high-quality photography, and engaging, thoughtful and provocative content they’ve come to know and love.”

Over the course of its 62-year history, Playboy has become one of the world’s best-selling men’s monthly magazines.  In addition to Playboy Brazil and the magazine’s US edition, there are 22 foreign editions of Playboy published around the world.
