The Playboy Foundation has long recognized the power of film to identify injustice and advocate change.
In 1977, the Foundation began awarding grants for post-production and distribution to a range of social change documentary films. From 1993 to 2004, the Foundation presented the Freedom of Expression Award at the Sundance Film Festival to honor the documentary film that best educated the public on an issue of social concern. The list of award winning films can be found at the link below.
